Join Girls on the Run Worcester County on September 26th at 4:00 PM for a ribbon cutting ceremony presented by the Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce (BVCC) to welcome the girl-centered non-profit to their new office space.

Girls on the Run Worcester County is a physical activity-based, postive youth development program that uses fun running games and dynamic discussions to teach life skills to girls in grades 3-8. During the 10-week program, girls participate in lessons that foster confidence, build peer connections, and encourage community service while they prepare for the end-of-season celebratory 5K event.

The new office space comes as Girls on the Run Worcester County rounds out their ninth year since inception, providing their confidence-building program to young girls across Worcester County since 2014. The new larger space will welcome continued growth of staff and number of girls served.

"Our team is excited to expand our headquarters to a much larger space while remaining in the Linwood Mill complex," said Karen Spencer, Executive Director of Girls on the Run Worcester County. "We are thankful to [Linwood Mill Apartments owners & friends of GOTR] Bill and Patty Giannopoulos, and our neighbors here for supporting the Girls on the Run mission wholeheartedly. This expansion will enable us to accomadate the growth of the Girls on the Run Worcester County program and serve even more girls in our community."

The Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce will present the ribbon cutting ceremony to officially welcome GOTR to their new space. BVCC preserves and enhances the economic vitality of the Blackstone Valley by addressing the needs and concerns of businesses and providing leadership, support and resources in connection with issues which impact commerce and the quality of life in the Valley.

The ribbon cutting ceremony will be immediately followed by an open house event, ending at 7:00 PM. Light refreshments will be served, and the Blackstone Valley Art Association will display an exhibit in the new space for guests' viewing. Community members are encouraged to attend this free event for any duration between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to learn more about Girls on the Run's mission to uplift young girls.
