Girls on the Run Worcester County has received a $10,000 grant issued by Main Street Bank to support Leominster, Fitchburg, and Lunenburg sites. Main Street Bank has locations across the MetroWest and North Central Massachusetts areas, and prioritizes financial support of organizations and programs that uplift their communities.

Their investment in GOTR means that girls in grades 6-8 will learn how to better manage their emotions, develop problem-solving skills, and resolve conflict through curricula that creatively incorporates running.

The Girls on the Run Worcester County team is both grateful and excited for this support for Spring, and extends a monumental 'thank you' to the Main Street Bank team.

Girls on the Run is a physical activity-based, positive youth development program that uses fun running games and dynamic discussions to teach life skills to girls in 3rd-8th grade. During the ten-week program, girls participate in lessons that foster confidence, build peer connections and encourage community serve while they prepare for an end-of-season celebratory 5K event.
