GOTR Receives "Reinvigorate" Grant from Rite Aid

Girls on the Run Worcester County has received a $7,000 from Rite Aid Healthy Futures in the form of their "Reinvigorate Grant". This grant supports Girls on the Run's ongoing committment to advance IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility) initiatives.

The announcement comes as Girls on the Run Worcester County preps for their Spring season, on track to serve upwards of 40 schools acorss the county.

Girls on the Run Worcester County's Annual Gratitude Report recorded 943 total girls served in the previous calendar year, 61 total teams, and $56,474 in financial aid scholarships given to program participants. The report also noted the council's expanded efforts through the formation of their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee, as well as the development of translated marketing materials.

Girls on the Run Worcester County is ecstatic to receive this grant for 2024 that will help them better serve the diverse communities that make the organization great, with plans to increase the number participants and coaches of colors served, supported, and uplifted. This takes shape through financial aid scholarships given in underserved communities, the further development of translated materials, and intentional coach recruitment so that girls may have mentors that reflect their experiences & challenges.

The funding from Rite Aid Healthy Furtures marks the fourth year of partnership between GOTR and Rite Aid Healthy Futures, who serves as a National Partner of Girls on the Run. Rite Aid Healthy Futures is the public charity affiliated with Rite Aid, and seeks to advance equity and opportunity for youth. The two organizations, GOTR and Rite Aid Healthy Futures, share the goal of building up local communities.
