4 Ways To Celebrate Your Friends This Holiday Season

Worcester County GOTR girls running in the Fall 5K.

This holiday season, we are reminded of all the friendships made through our GOTR program.  Participants, coaches, and volunteers all meet new friends and strengthen old relationships.  At the core of our program are these long-lasting friendships, and the skillset to nurture them into becoming healthy, wonderful friendships for years to come.

Recognizing our friends and telling them how much they mean to us is crucial!  That's why GOTR Worcester County has come up with four ways you can let them know how much you value them this December.

Make them a handmade gift

A big misconception of gift-giving is that you must spend a great deal of money to get your loved ones something valuable.  Try making your friend a painting or craft they can cherish for years to come.  Something handmade will let them know you spent time to put a smile on their face!

Write them a card

Writing is a great way to express how much your friends mean to you.  Our Heart & Sole girls practice journaling their emotions and expressing themselves through prompts.  Take inspiration from your H&S practice, and write to your friend about how much it means to you that they stick by your side.  Adding stickers never hurt, either!

Bake them their favorite treat

Snacks, anyone?  A sweet gift for your bestie could be their favorite cookies or dessert.  It's a delicious way to let them know you're thinking about them this holiday season, and they'll appreciate the hard work you put into the baking process!

Tell them!

Sometimes the most meaningful gift is just letting your friend know how much they mean to you.  Take a moment the next time you see your best friend and let them know how grateful you are for their friendship!  Words go a long way, and your BFF will love hearing them.

From everyone at GOTR Worcester, have a lovely holiday season!
